ARTWORK
FREDY VILLAMIL
Fredy Villamil composes atmospheres extracted from devotion, anxiety, love and despair. His work is strong in design and he easily expresses himself with color . Villamil's work goes beyond the canvas and is projected onto different media such as: RECENT ART, TRIBUTE TO MONET, SELECT ART, MONOTYPE, CERAMIC, PUBLIC ART and more.

Tribute to Vincent van Gogh
On March 30th, 2026, I will unveil a series of 37 paintings, a personal and heartfelt tribute to Vincent van Gogh. Accompanying this body of work will be a catalogue-book, documenting each piece alongside my journey through the very landscapes where he once poured his soul onto canvas.
From the haunting stillness of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, birthplace of The Starry Night, to the boundless fields of Auvers-sur-Oise, where Wheatfield with Crows brushed against the sky, this series is a silent dialogue between two visions—two eras—bound by the same devotion to painting.
And not least: the thirty-seventh work was painted before his grave… and left there, a final offering—like placing a flower before the one who first lit the path.
Because sometimes, painting is another way of saying thank you.

Recent Art
Entering Villamil’s world is akin to tumbling down the rabbit hole into a fantastical Wonderland of color and form. Vibrant palettes pulsate with energy, fracturing lines and colliding shapes to create a kaleidoscopic vision that defies conventional notions of space and dimensionality. Yet, beneath the surface dazzle lies a carefully constructed motif, anchoring the viewer’s gaze to deeper realms of meaning and emotion.
A Tribute to Claude Monet (2023)
“I finally discovered the true color of the atmosphere. It is purple” Claude Monet.
Fredy Villamil traveled to Giverny in France, and painted at the Maison & Jardins de Claude Monet where the impressionist artist created his iconic water lilies series. As in Monet’s paintings, Villamil works focus on basic characteristics, such as texture, light, brushstroke and the use of colors.
Select Art (2018 - 2024)
At the heart of Villamil’s artistry lies a profound exploration of human experience, particularly the role of women within his familial and cultural context. Whether through serene recumbent nudes or preening women adorned with fantastical chapeaux, each painting is imbued with personal content, reflecting Villamil’s introspective musings on cherished family members.
